State Capital Employees Credit Union

The State Capital Employees Credit Union began fifty-five years ago in Helena, MT.
In 1981, the credit union took over the failing Federal Credit Union in Bozeman, MT. Currently,
the State Capital Employee Credit Union continues to operate from their Helena and Bozeman Locations.
The Bozeman office primarily covers Gallatin County, and the Helena office covers the Helena area, along
with twenty-three other counties. The Board of Directors consist of six members including a treasurer, of
whom is the only paid member. The directors serve three-year staggered terms. They meet on a monthly
basis. The mission statement of the Credit Union is to become the member's number-one financial
institution. A working employee in the counties may become a member by completeing a membership
form. One may have a savings account, a checking account, a money market account, an individual
retirement account, Certificate of Deposits, and other options. Future goals include increasing
productivity and demonstrating electronic banking.
