University Food Services extends a special welcome to faculty and staff into our dining facilities at discounted prices with the new Faculty & Staff Meal Plans!

What is the Faculty Staff Meal Plan?
This special plan is offered only to faculty and staff and provides the opportunity to experience and enjoy the same excellent food and service that we offer to our students daily in our three dining halls and retail locations.Three plan options are available to fit your needs including a 10 meal plan, 15 meal plan, and a 20 meal plan.All options include $25.00 in staff cash.

What is staff cash and where can it be used?
Staff cash is a debit account attached to your meal plan. Staff cash can be used at any of the retail food service locations including Avogadro's Number, Avo's on the Go, Union Market, Bobcat Grill, Zorba's Greek Café, Tomassito's, Freshens, The Sweet Shop, SRO Coffee Shop, and the Brewed Awakening. For retail locations and hours please visit http://www.montana.edu/ufs/retail.php. Staff cash can also be used to purchase additional meals in the dining halls.

Where can I use my meal plan?
Your meal plan can be used during breakfast, lunch, or dinner, at any of the three all-you-care-to-eat dining halls, conveniently located across campus.

Wondering what's on the menu?Choose from rotating tasty entrees including healthy choice and vegetarian options in addition to daily specialty bars featuring omelets, deli sandwiches, tacos, salads, burgers, pizza, and delicious Fat Cat Bakery desserts. What if I have dietary needs?
Nutrition facts are posted on placards near all food items.Daily dining hall menus feature healthy choice and vegetarian options. University Food Services also has a nutritionist on staff to help with special dietary needs.Please contact Jill Abbott-Stoltzfus at 994-7097 with any questions and/or concerns.

Who is eligible for the plans?
Meal plans can be purchased by those classified as faculty and staff only on the Montana State University campus.

Who can use the plans?
Unlike student meal plans, the Faculty/Staff plans allow plan holders to share and use their meals for co-workers, colleagues, family members, and other guests.

Is the plan transferrable?
Faculty/Staff Meal plans are non-transferable.Plans cannot be transferred to an alternate individual.

What do I need to purchase a Faculty & Staff meal plan?
A valid credit card, Cat Card, and GID number is required to purchase a meal plan.

  • I do not have a Cat Card
    Cards are required for a meal plan.Cat Cards are $15.00 and can be purchased at the Cat Card Office located in the Strand Union Building, room 134.To be issued a Cat Card, please bring a valid government issued photo ID along with a letter from your department written on department letterhead stating your employment status (i.e. faculty or staff) and GID number. If you sign up for a meal plan by October 31, 2012, University Food Services will cover the cost of your Cat Card. To obtain your UFS cost covered Cat Card, you must purchase a Faculty & Staff meal plan first then visit the Cat Card Office with the above mentioned credentials.The Cashier's Office will have a record of meal plans purchased. If you currently have an active Cat Card, UFS will not cover the cost to issue a new one.

  • What if I lost my Cat Card
    A $15.00 replacement fee will be charged for all lost, stolen or damaged cards.

  • What is my GID Number
    A GID number is an eight digit number preceded by a dash.These generated identification numbers are assigned by Human Resources and can be obtained by contacting your departmental accountant.

How do I purchase a Faculty & Staff meal plan?
Faculty/Staff meal plans can be purchased on Manage My ID with a valid credit card.To access Manage My ID, visit http://www.montana.edu/catcard/. Click on “Your Cat Card Account” then on “Online Account.”Follow the instructions to create a Manage My ID account. Once your account is created, you can add the desired meal plan.Once payment has been received and confirmed, your meal plan will automatically be loaded onto your Cat Card.

* The initial meal plan purchased must be purchased as a package with the $25.00 staff cash.

Is payroll deduction an option?
Payroll deduction for the Faculty/Staff meal plan is not currently available.

When are the plans valid?
Faculty & Staff Meal Plans are valid through August 2, 2013.

*Unused staff cash will carry over however unused meals will be forfeited with no refund upon plan expiration.

What is the cancellation policy?
Cancelations must be made within two weeks after the initial purchase date. Please visit the Cashier's Office in the Hedges Complex to request a cancellation.Please bring a valid ID.You will be refunded for the amount of unused meals. Refunds are processed via check through the Business Office and can take 3-5 weeks to process.

How do I make additional plan purchases?
Additional plans are purchased through Manage My ID.Additional plans can be purchased with or without the staff cash option however all meals from the initial plan must be used up prior to purchasing a new plan. Any unused staff cash will carry over.Keep in mind plans are valid through August 2, 2013. Plans for the following year cannot be purchased until August 8, 2012.

What if I want to add more staff cash to my plan?
Deposits can be made to your current meal plan at the Cat Card Office located in the SUB or at the Cashiers Office located in the Hedges Complex.
