Farmers Information



University Food Services strives to use local products whenever possible.  Below are a few of the producers we currently work with on a regular basis.  If you have any questions or suggestions for a product you think we might be interested in please contact our farm to college coordinator at mtmade@montana.edu.

Amaltheia Goat Dairy

Amaltheia Goat Dairy is a family owned and operated goat farm and cheese production facility in Belgrade, Montana. University Food Services utilizes their variety of cheeses, which include Chevre, Ricotta and Feta on products all year long.  To learn more about their farm or where purchase their products check their website.

Lifeline Farm

Located in Victor, Lifeline Farm produces a variety of delicious cheeses, milk, butter and produce.  Their products have been featured in all University Food Services locations for various events including our annual Montana Fest Dinner and Montana Mondays.  Look for them at upcoming events or check out their website to learn more about them and find their products.

Cream of the West

Start your morning right with a delicious bowl of Cream of the West cereal.  Located in Harlowton, Montana, cream of the west has been a featured in MSU Food Services for many years, including Montana Monday’s.  Besides their hearty hot cereals they also offer a version of granola (Montana Crunch) and flapjack mix to tease your taste buds.   Check out Cream of The West’s website to learn more about them.

Garden City Fungi

Coming to us form Missoula, Montana, Garden City Fungi offers a great variety of mushrooms for Food Service to choose from.  This diversity has lent itself to many dishes throughout UFS operations from catering to two Montana Monday features.  To see their full list of products and discover the mystery in mushroom growing checkout their website.

Country Pasta

Country Pasta out of Polson, Montana, has been producing high quality homemade egg noodles for almost twenty years.  Country Pasta’s versatile product has worked its way into a plethora of dishes and events including the 2009 Montana Mondays.  With such a hearty history we will not stop there, keep your eyes open for their noodles at upcoming events.  To learn more about Country Pasta and for a list of retail locations across the country check out their website.

Towne's Harvest Garden

Towne’s Harvest Garden is a three year old student run farm on Montana State Universities Campus. It provides local, sustainable and educationally grown produce to the Gallatin Valley.  University Food Services has recently made a commitment to serve their produce whenever available, so keep your eyes open for upcoming features.  If you would like to learn more about the program check out their website.
