Home: Meet the Staff
Cathy Conover, Director, Communications and Public Affairs: Cathy manages all media and governmental relations and oversees the Communications Services Department. She is the MSU spokesperson and lobbyist. An MSU veteran since 1981, Cathy has taught courses in the College of Engineering and the College of Business, as well as serving as the Director of Employee Relations and Services. In 1997 Cathy took the helm of University Relations and has represented Montana State University during the last three sessions of the Montana Legislature. She thrives on the fast-paced environment and excels at developing positive relationships with MSU's constituents. Cathy tends to chickens, sheep, horses, dogs, and a llama on her ranch west of Bozeman.

Julie Kipfer, Director, University Marketing: In January 2001, Julie returned to Montana State University. With a background in both higher education and marketing, she brings over 10 years of experience to this position. Responsible for developing new concepts and strategies for university marketing, Julie strives for good ideas. Julie chairs the University marketing committee that works to coordinate campus efforts, promote MSU to our various constituents, and create programs to enhance MSU's image and awareness. On the weekend, Julie can be found doing yard work, riding her Schwinn mountain bicycle, or hiking and skiing any of the numerous trials in the Bozeman area.

Jodie DeLay, Administrative Assistant: Jodie is a Montana State University alum from the class of 1993 and a former ASMSU president. She returns to MSU after a stint in the private sector as both a real estate loan officer and the assistant director of an international advertisement tracking company. Jodie manages the office and handles tasks ranging from event planning to speech writing. She takes care of arrangements for the President's Advisory Council and the External Relations committee and works hand in hand with Cathy on government and media relations. Jodie is happily married with two children and spends her free time enjoying Bobcat athletics, hanging out with her family, and working on community activities for the Belgrade Jaycees.

Annette Trinity-Stevens, Director, MSU News Service: Annette heads the university's news staff which covers campus, research, Extension and agricultural news for state, regional and national media. A campus employee since 1986, Annette previously was writer then director of research communications for the Office of the Vice President for Research. She and her husband David have two children. Annette grew up in Missoula and graduated from the University of Montana. At game time, however, she always roots for the Bobcats and will long remember where she was when the Bobcats finally beat their cross-state rival during the now-famous 2002 Cat-Griz football game.

Suzi Taylor, Director, MSU Publications and Graphics: Suzi manages the production of publications, marketing materials, photography and educational videos for the entire university community, including the Agricultural Experiment Station and Extension Service. She has been with MSU for eight years, and was formerly a product manager for a newsletter publishing company and a marketing coordinator for a restaurant chain. Suzi received her bachelor's degree in journalism from the University of Illinois (Urbana) and her master's in business from MSU. In her free time, she enjoys golf, softball, cheering on the Chicago Cubs, and playing Legos with her daughter, Molly. She and her husband, Scott, operate a hot air balloon company called Balloons Over Bozeman.

Moss Hartt, Director, MSU Web Communications: Moss is responsible for coordinating the implementation of an integrated marketing plan and brand identity standards for the MSU Web site. He has been with the university for eight years and was formerly the director of MSU Communications Services. He currently chairs the MSU Web Advisory Committee. Originally from Texas, he has a bachelor's degree in environmental design from Texas A&M University and several years of experience in communications with companies in Austin, Texas and Spokane, Washington. Moss is an avid collector of angling literature and a self-professed perpetual novice at fly fishing for wild trout.
