USP Budget Summary Instructions
Instructions: Click here for a downloadable budget summary template in PDF format. Fill out the form, save to your computer, and then upload to the application system using the "Add a New File" link in the budget detail seciton of the application.
- Make sure to enter 'semester', 'academic year', or 'summer' in the Funding Term field. This will auto fill standard USP award amounts.
- Any funds that are not budgeted for specific expenses are yours to keep as a USP research stipend.
- Please enter other sources of support for your project (e.g. from your mentor or other sources) in the appropriate columns.
- Provide as much detail as you can in the space provided. Try to classify expenses
into the categories provided on the form.
- Materials and Supplies - expendible items that you will use in your project
- Equipment - Durable items like tools, cameras, computers, software, etc.
- Lab Fees & Expenses - Charges for instrument usage and training.
- Travel - Any expnses realted to research travel. If you are traveling to present research results, apply for a USP Travel Grant.
- Other Expenses - Anything that doesn't fit into the categories above.
- Enter the amount of your USP stipend (Standard USP Award Amount minus Research Expenses).
- Verify that the USP portion of the Total Requested Funding matches the Standard USP Award Amount.
