Moving Forward with an Application Form
After you write your proposal (Project Description) you will need to fill out an online application. go to www.montana.edu/uspapps, logon with your D2L username and password (NetID), and follow the online instructions. Contact USP if you have questions.

A complete poject budget
You also will need to upload:
  Your unofficial transcript (download instructions here)
  Your proposal
 
Online Application

You must fill out all fields in the online application completely, including your local address and contact information. Please indicate whether your project is eligible for funding from the INBRE program by choosing the INBRE radio button. If you are not sure, visit the INBRE page on our website or contact Martin Teintze (mteintze@montana.edu). Please make sure to provide all requested information including:

- Are you a U.S. citizen?

- Are you a past participant in USP?  If yes, what year(s) and semester(s) did you receive support?

- Are you a full-time undergraduate student?  (During the academic year you must be a full-time student to receive support.  During the summer you don't need to be full-time, but you need to have been full-time during the previous spring semester and be planning to be full-time during the following fall semester.

- Please provide your current address so that we can contact you in a timely manner.

 
Summary Statement
The Summary Statement is not the proposal, but simply a brief description orabstract of the intended project. You may choose type the Summary Statement in the online form or cut and paste it from a word processor. Avoid special characters if possible since they may not transfer correctly.
 
Project Budget
The budget lists the amount of time you plan to spend on each part of your project and any equipment, supplies, or other expenses that are needed to support your project.
 
List each item necessary for the completion of the project, including equipment, supplies, computer services, library, or laboratory fees, and travel expenses.
Estimate the cost of each item.
Do not list items that have been or will be purchased prior to the anticipated date of the award letter.
Arrangements for payment will be made when the student responds to the award letter.   Disbursement of funds is at the discretion of the program director.
