THE PURPOSE

Congratulations!!!

You have just been invited to go on an expedition!!! You will be taking a trip to the Amazon rainforest in South America to become an expert on the ecosystem.

Your assignment is to find any new species of animals in the Amazon.

The Amazon has the greatest biological diversity on Earth, so you can choose to become an expert on a number of animals. Let's concentrate on discovering many different animals on this expedition.

You will want to report any of your findings to your fellow students

PROCESS


  1. The first step is to prepare for your expedition. You should become familiar with where the Amazon rainforest is on a map.

  2. Next, you should organize your expedition. Decide what kind of animals you will research and discover.

  3. Now that you have a plan of what you want to discover, explore some of the sites listed to gather information to collect in your journal.

  4. Lastly, when you become an expert on some creatures of the Amazon, you can share your journal with your collegues.

JOURNAL ADVICE


A few tips for your Amazon Animal Journal:

  1. Take good notes on intersting animals, and write down the web site where you found the information.

  2. Draw diagrams of the Amazon animals you like best.

  3. Use your journal to teach others about what you found on your expedition!

  4. Don't be afraid to explore on your own! If you get lost in the Amazon, you can just find your way back to our HOME PAGE.

    The Amazon has such a great diversity in the ecosystem, and there are so many animals that are yet to be discovered.

    During your expedition, you had a chance to explore and discover animals that interested you.
