Welcome to the Time Travelers Tutorial! Our goal is to prepare the future time traveler for the journey ahead. Our team of trained professionals will guide you through the process. In your initial interview, you expressed and interest in visiting Australia. Before your journey to the land downunder can begin, some preparation must be done.

Task

Before your trip can begin, we need you to submit a travel log informing us of your plans and knowledge of the area. In order to create the travel log, you need to do some research into the history and government of Australia. You will need to concentrate your search to four time periods.

In each period you must find information of major events that occured, the type of government in Australia, who is in charge and any other interesting information you find. Be sure to write down any important facts you find, as well as where you found it.

Resources

To start your search, begin at these websites. Also, check with your local librarian to find out where books on Australia are located in the library.

The Process

  1. Click on one of the websites listed.
  2. Look for interesting information.
  3. Write down what you learn and where you got it from.
  4. Continue looking for information at other sites.
  5. When you have at least 3 to 4 facts on Australia's government and 6 to 7 facts on Australia's history, you can start making your travel log.
  6. First, gather together one piece of construction paper and five sheets of white computer paper.
  7. Fold all the sheets in half and staple together using the construction paper as a cover.
  8. Your log will use four pages for each time period. Page one will have the time period, the years it covered, and a picture. Page two will have your facts about the government written on it. Pages three and four will contain your history facts.
  9. At the end of your travel log, write down all the places you got your facts from as well as any extra information or pictures you want to put in it.
  10. Finally, decorate your log with pictures of Australia.
