The Wellness Champion Team is comprised of The University of Montana faculty and staff who support the mission of the Montana University System Wellness program and want to help create a wellness culture at work by increasing the visibility of the UM Wellness program and facilitating the opportunity for employees to take advantage of our health/wellness benefits.

 

Role Description:
A Wellness Champion is someone who has a sincere desire to support healthy lifestyle and disease prevention strategies in the workplace. This person has a strong commitment to health, regardless of where he/she is on the path towards optimal well-being (even if you’re not sure what that means), and a desire to help others achieve success as well.  A UM Wellness Champion must be insured through the MUS Benefits Plan and able to do all of the following:

* Volunteer to be a Wellness Champion a minimum of two years, with full support from
immediate supervisor (time commitment: orientation + approx 15-20 hours per year)

* Volunteer to attend a 6-hour orientation and periodic meetings to be empowered with
all the necessary information to be a successful UM Wellness Champion

* Be a liaison or link between Faculty-Staff Wellness and employees within your
department/building(s)

* Be a Wellness advocate or mentor by promoting Wellness services in your
department/building(s)

* Volunteer to assist at annual fall and/or spring WellCheck event

 

Orientation (attendance required):  Sept 25 and Oct 2: 10:00-1:00 (lunch included)

Ÿ Interested faculty or staff must submit application – Deadline: September 11, 2009.
