If you believe, “an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure,” you will understand this is true for organizations as well as individuals. According to recent evidence, companies with the lowest medical costs focus on structured clinical care programs, cash-based incentives, and keeping people healthy, rather than traditional cost management methods.
During the past few years, the MUS Benefits Plan and Wellness Programs have successfully implemented three clinical care programs. In an effort to keep people healthy, MUS Wellness introduces WellAwards, a cash-based incentive program.
Wellawards allows participants to earn a $100 cash reward by earning credits for
participating in health-related activities.
WellAwards begins September 1, 2008 and will continue through April 30, 2009. Plan members wishing to participate in the program have an opportunity to register online during the month of September. The WellAwards book and complete registration information will be distributed to all insured employees and their spouses in late August, 2008.
