Updates on Paper/Presentations:

• You need to select a country and have it approved by MARCH 2

• Class presentations are limited to 15 minutes, three per class and will be the last three weeks of class-ALL Students must attend the presentations.  Unexcused absences will be penalized a 1/2 letter grade from the final grade.

  Guidelines for presentation/paper:

  •  Brief overview/description of country

  •  Summary of major indicators of economic development-time series if possible and comparison with other countries.

  •  Focus on one or two key issues in the country's economic development, i.e., education policy, political instability, poverty, health,   macro policies,-use economic analysis to critique existing policies or programs

  •  Make two suggestions for improvements in economic development, substantiated by economic analysis

  •  1/3 can be descriptive, 2/3 must be economic analysis

  •  The length of the accompanying paper must not exceed 10 pages, excluding figures and references

   

• Presentation must be in powerpoint or similar program.  I will provide the projector and laptop.  You need to have the presentation on a disk.
