Psychological and Social Complications

Besides dealing with the physical complications, a person with diabetes also has to deal with the psychological and social aspects of the disease. They may deal with such issues as stress, depression, anger, guilt, and denial. They may also have to deal with social issues such as their relationship with the community and their self-esteem.
