- Routine care - non-breeding mouse colonies housed in non-sterile ventilated caging.
- Specialized care – animals are housed in sterile caging, provided irradiated feed and sterile water, housed in ventilated caging, and cage changes are performed within a HEPA-filtered change station.
- Biocontainment – animals are housed in the biocontainment area of the facility. They are maintained in the same manner as “specialized care”. In addition, caging is then autoclaved upon exit. Additional personal protective equipment is also required in these rooms.
