On Friday, January 23, ASMSU will be providing free transportation to the state capital for the presentation of the Montana StateUniversity budget.  Students will leave from the front of the SUB at 5:45am and are expected to return around 4:00pm.  As the allocation of university funds affects all students, we strongly encourage your attendance.

The budget presentation will begin promptly at 8:00am commencing at noon.  During this meeting, the Montana State University budget will be addressed and discussed by state legislatures.  MSU Students will have the opportunity to testify their assessment of the budget in relation to their experience with higher education.  For the duration of the time in Helena, we urge participants to contact legislatures from their hometowns to schedule a working lunch (not provided) to discuss the budget hearing and higher education.  Contact information will be provided at sign-up.  Students will also receive the opportunity to watch elected representatives on the floor of the capital beginning at 1:00pm.  Students will then depart for Bozeman at 2:00pm.

Developing a relationship with state politicians is a great opportunity for our students.  As issues concerning student move throughout the house, we hope to offer more future trips to Helena.
