Every other year and when special legislative sessions are called; ASMSU
represents the students as the state legislature by hiring a student lobbyist,
legislative researcher, and state legislative director. ASMSU lobbies
for lower tuition rates, new academic buildings, financial aid programs,
as well as any pertinent issue that affects the students of MSU.
As the official voice of the students, ASMSU and its leadership have face-to-face conferences and meetings with the Governor of Montana, corporate executives, and the members of the United States Congress.
The student leadership promotes positive relations between the students of MSU and the state’s and nations elected leadership.
If you would like to become more involved with the state legislative committee of ASMSU, please stop by our office (right next to the ASK-US Information desk) to pick up an application.
