MSU is pleased to offer on-line payment services in partnership with QuikPay, and processes VISA, MasterCard, Discover and e-checks on the web.
Why do we charge a $10 convenience fee?
- We received many requests from students and parents for the ability to pay their tuition, fees and housing costs on-line, but we could not offer the additional service without asking for assistance from the payers, due to the costs involved. MSU is charged an average of 1.8% of each credit card payment by the credit card companies and banks, with a slightly higher rate for those cards that earn points, miles, or cash back— an average of $32 per tuition payment. In addition, we pay a fee to QuikPay to provide the service on the web and to automatically post the payment to your student account.
Why should I pay on-line?
- Payment can be made at any time 24/7.
- Entering your own data over the web ensures that no one but you sees your credit card number.
- QuikPay must meet the highest standards of security, which ensures we do our part to prevent identity theft.
- Payment can be made at the last minute and is not delayed by mailing time.
Can I avoid paying the convenience fee?
- Cash, checks and credit cards are accepted at our cashier windows in Montana Hall.
- Credit card payment can be made over the telephone at 406-994-1991.
- Checks or money orders can be mailed to PO Box 172640, Bozeman, MT 59717.
