Marketing
A large part of the consumer dollar goes into marketing, creating vast opportunities for graduates in this field. Modern marketing decisions are based on statistical analysis, market tests, and other research techniques. Studies in this option prepare students to enter this growing and ever-changing sector of the American economy in positions such as marketing managers, sales managers, retail buyers, marketing representatives, professional salespersons, and advertising staff.

For business majors, the requirement for registration in any upper-division (300 or 400 level) business course is formal admission to the College of Business. Formal Admission requires all of the following:
- 60 semester credits earned (Junior standing)
- Completion of Business Pre-Core with a "C" or better in each course
- 2.5 or better Pre-Core GPA

*Restricted Elective - Take three (3) credits of a 300- or 400-level course outside of the College of Business.
A minimum number of 120 credits is required for graduation; 42 credits must be in courses numbered 300 and above; 60 credits must be non-business/non-economics rubrics (Econ 101, Econ 102, Econ 201 may be included); University core credit requirements must be satisfied. In order to fulfill the College of Business residency requirement, the following 28 credits must be taken at MSU-Bozeman: 4 credits capstone (Bus 474), 12 credits of marketing option courses, and 12 credits of other required upper-division business courses.
