The College of Letters and Science offers professional preparation in the humanities and the mathematical, natural and social sciences, and moreover provides opportunity for all MSU students to develop a solid academic foundation through courses outside their major subject areas. Baccalaureate programs are available in anthropology, biology (including fish and wildlife management), chemistry and biochemistry, earth sciences, economics, English, history, mathematics and statistics, microbiology, modern languages, philosophy, physics, political science, psychology, and sociology.

The following baccaluareate degrees are offered in the College of Letters and Science:

In addition to various options within each degree, and minors in most of the areas listed above, the College administers the following minors:

  • Minor in Native American Studies
  • Minor in Museum Studies
  • Minor in Japan Studies
  • Minor in Women's Studies

    The selection of a minor provides students the opportunity to have a recognized second area of concentration.
