NWCCU ACCREDITATION - Standard Six (Governance and Administration)

MSU is undergoing the Northwest Commission on Colleges and Universities accreditation process. A self study, and site visit, are required every ten years and the last took place in 1999. The Standards being addressed are available at www.nwccu.org. MSU has appointed committees to work on each Standard. All campus constituents will be asked to participate in giving input into the self study via, for instance, groups like CEPAC-Staff Senate, as well as through surveys and other activities.

August 20, 2008 (at Staff Senate meeting) Sara France reported that the first draft of the Standard Six - governance and administration - text will be submitted to Joe Fedock and Bruce Morton around September 1. Updates and refinements will continue, and MSU will submit the final self study (all Standards) to NWCCU in about a year's time. Sara will keep Staff Senate informed as composition proceeds.

July 29, 2008 - first draft, per element, of the Standard is almost complete. Questions from Accreditation Standards committee chairs devised for July 30 meeting.

June 30, 2008 - questions for potential survey of campus constituents discussed (for submission July 24.

May 6, 2008 - draft texts are refined.

April 7, 2008 - preliminary drafted texts are shared and discussed.

March 25, 2008 - committee members discuss findings related to the elements of the Standard on which they are working.

February 27, 2008 - Joe Feddock briefs CEPAC-Staff Senate.

February 25, 2008 - first meeting. Elements of the Starndard are discussed, 1999 self study reviewed, and tasks assigned to each committee member.
