The Career, Internship & Student Employment Services office is open Monday through Thursday from 7:30 am until 7:00 pm and 7:30 to 5:00 pm on Friday.

Carina Beck, Ed.D

Carina Beck currently oversees the Career, Internship & Student Employment Services Office and the Office of Student Success at Montana State University. In this capacity she is charged with developing student success initiatives to improve overall retention and completion rates for the institution while at the same time bolstering career development, financial literacy, internship participation and employer relations.
Beck received her Doctorate in Education from Montana State University and Master's in Organizational Communication from The University of Montana. She has taught courses in communication, career development and human resources. In addition, she enjoys researching student persistence and new member socialization tactics.
Beck and her husband, Larry, have two sons, a neighbors cat, two voles and several deer (the later two seem to have declared war on gardens -- Beck's other beloved past-time).

Erin McCormick, M.Ed.

Erin has been at MSU since 2004 and joined the Career & Internship Services office in the Spring of 2008. She has a B.S. in Psychology from Montana State University and her Master's of Education in Student Affairs, also from MSU. Erin serves as the operations manager for the two offices. She enjoys gardening and traveling (preferably somewhere strange and impromptu).

Chantelle Mahan, B.S.

Chantelle earned her B.S. in Business Marketing from Montana State University in 1993. She is a 5th generation descendant from the Gallatin County and her roots are deep in the valley. Prior to joining the staff of Montana State University, Chantelle spent 7 years as a broker/realtor. As a member of the Gallatin Association of Realtors she became involved in several boards and organizations that lead to her interest in helping to make and keep Bozeman one of the "last best places". She finds that same opportunity among the Mission Statement of Montana State University, the State's land-grant institution, by helping students find and achieve their academic and professional goals. Chantelle is raising twin teenage boys and enjoys getting out and about whenever possible whether it be traveling, camping, skiing, floating, or trying something new! Bungee jumping anyone?

Sam has nearly worked at Career, Internship & Student Employment Services for 5 years now. She started working in the office as a student while attending Montana State University earning her B.S. in Business Marketing with a minor in Entrepreneurship and Small Business Management. Sam currently works in the office assisting with communications and promoting events and workshops through email, website, and other advertising. She also handles coordinating presentation requests for the office.

Rae graduated with a Bachelor of Individualized Studies from the University of Minnesota in 2011. She provides support for the office by coordinating office services and assisting with scheduling and communication . She also helps with various events such as orientation, career fairs, and the annual etiquette dinner.

Jenny earned a BA in History from the University of Colorado at Boulder in 2003, and has just completed her M.S. in Mental Health Counseling in May of 2012 from MSU. Jenny began working as a Success Advisor in the Office of Student Success this past August. She also works part-time as a post-graduate counselor at Counseling and Psychological Services on the MSU campus. When she is not in the office, she tries to get outside as much as possible whether it is snowboarding, trail running, climbing or just exploring the mountains within Montana. |

Megan Swanson, M.Ed.
Emerging Scholars and Internships Program Manager

Megan started her career at MSU as a student in 2002. Graduating with her BA in Political Science and Public Administration in 2005, she went on to lobby for the students of MSU at the MT legislative session and later moved to Washington, D.C. to continue working in politics and education. She moved back to Bozeman to complete her Masters in Education. After teaching middle school for two years, she went on to work for an organization dedicated to international education before ending up back at MSU teaching University Seminar and working with Career Services on the Emerging Scholars and Internship programs.

Tracy Kimball is a Montana native, born and raised in Billings. She holds a degree in Business Marketing from Montana State University and has over 15 years experience in customer service, mainly in the insurance industry. Tracy and her husband, an MSU graduate who was on the 1984 National Championship football team, have two daughters; a junior at Bozeman High School and a freshman at Montana State. She describes herself as a die hard Bobcat fan and looks forward to working with the students and ensuring that they have a great experience here at MSU. Go Cats!

Nancy Gerlach, B.S.

Nancy received a B.S. from Eastern Washington University in Cheney, Washington. Her degree was in P.E. with a Pre-Physical / Therapy Option. She spent time, post college, in the grocery business. Nancy then spent 18 years in the flooring business starting out as a sales person. From there she became a Territory Manager for a distributor based out of Spokane, Washington and eventually became a manger of a local flooring store. Nancy learned many aspects of how to sell, how to run a business in a profitable manner, how to deal with people, and what employers look for in prospective employees.

Joy Kreikemeier obtained her Masters in Education/School Counseling from MSU in August 2003, and began working in Belgrade's Intermediate School that same month. She has worked with public and private school students, grades K-12, in the intervening years and finds that she particularly relishes the challenges and opportunities of older students, thus her delight to have obtained a position in MSU's Career and Internship Services Office working with college-aged students and non-traditional students. Joy is a counselor by training and at heart, knowing personally as a mother to young adult children, that finding one's place in this modern, complex, uncertain society begins with exploration and conversation, in a setting of genuine care and mature guidance. Her greatest joy comes from encouraging students to dare to do their most outrageous dreams!

Paula Mozen, M.F.A

Paula Mozen holds a Masters of Fine Arts in Film from San Francisco State University. She is an award-winning documentary filmmaker, educator, and PBS consultant who has served on the film faculties at Towson University in Baltimore, Montana State University, and San Francisco State University. Her two highly acclaimed Health Issue documentaries are NO REWIND (teenagers and HIV/AIDS) and 3 girls i know (young women and sexuality) are currently distributed nationally and internationally to over 6,000 high schools, universities (Harvard, Johns Hopkins, Columbia, among many others,) public libraries, hospitals, medical schools, community health clinics and public health departments; have been screened at dozens of highly acclaimed film festivals; and broadcast by PBS, Discovery Channel and Knowledge Network.

Rachel joined the team in 2010 and works as a career coach. Rachel has a degree from Montana State University in Psychology and Spanish and worked in marketing and sales in several large markets, including Las Vegas and Denver before returning to Bozeman with her family. |
