INSTRUCTOR: Teresa M. Christensen, Ph.D.
Terry is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in Colorado and Virginia, and a LPC-Board Approved Supervisor in Louisiana. She is also a Nationally Certified Counselor (NCC), and a Registered Play Therapist-Supervisor (RPT-S) who has counseled children, adolescents, and families in a variety of settings for over 16 years. She is currently an Associate Professor of Counseling, Chair of Counseling Children and Adolescent Post-Graduate Certificate program, and Faculty Advisor for the Rho Upsilon Chi chapter of Chi Sigma Iota, a national honorary society, at Regis University in Denver, CO. For the past 13 years, Teresa has served as a review team member for the Council for Accreditation of Counseling and Related Educational Programs (CACREP). In addition, Teresa has served on various executive committees for professional associations and editorial boards for professional journals related to counseling which currently include: the Association for Play Therapy (APT), the Colorado Association for Play Therapy (CAPT), the Association for Counselor Educators and Supervisors (ACES), and the Association for Specialists in Group Work (ASGW). Teresa has received several research awards which most recently included the Best Group Research Article of the Year (2007) Award in an ACA journal granted by the Association for Specialists in Group Work.
