Teaching Areas
Dr. Art Bangert is currently an Assistant Professor of Educational Leadership in the Montana State University’s Department of Education, where he has been serving on faculty for five years. Principally, he teaches statistics and research methods.


Programs and Research Projects
His primary research interest is focused on assessing the quality of online learning environments and investigating the development of online critical inquiry.

Dr. Bangert received his Ed. D in 1995 from the University of South Dakota where the major focus of his studies were in the area of research and evaluation . His dissertation research was on examining the influence of peer assessment activities on statistics achievement and statistics anxiety. In addition to his teaching and research interests, Dr. Bangert also has twenty-three years of public school experience as a teacher, counselor and school psychologist.

Dr. Bangert’s service commitments include serving a member of the technical advisory committee for the Montana Comprehensive Assessment System. In addition, his scholarly service includes serving as a reviewer for the Journal of Student Centered Learning, The Internet and Higher Education and the Journal of Educational Computing Research.
