Faculty: Dr. Boyd Dressler
BIOGRAPHICAL VITAE
Boyd Dressler is an Associate Professor in the Educational Leadership
program at Montana State University-Bozeman. He has served in leadership
roles in both the public and private sectors. His education leadership
roles include being a principal of a junior-senior high school, a high
school, a charter school, Director of the Curriculum & Instruction Unit at
the Colorado Department of Education. He received his B.S. (1965) degree
in English and Social Science from Missouri Valley College, his M.A. (1970)
degree in Secondary School Administration from the University of Missouri,
and he earned his Ed.D. (1983) degree in Administration, Supervision, and
Curriculum Development with a concentration in Organization Development
from the University of Colorado-Boulder.
Dr. Dressler's publications include reports, grants, and studies. He wrote
a Teacher Induction Grant for the Colorado Department of Education in 1988
that was funded; a Child Welfare Integration Systems proposal (1995) for
Arizona and New York; a report on juvenile offenders transition study for
the Colorado Division of Youth Services (1997); and, studies of
administrative personnel needs for Colorado school districts. He has been
a member of several professional organizations serving as an officer and/or
member of governing boards. He wrote an article for Education Colorado and
Insight...(1984), "Spell it Dedication," and he has co-authored editorials
and other articles.
Dr. Dressler received an Outstanding Faculty award from the 1996 graduating
class of the University of Phoenix, Denver; was recognized for
contributions to the Colorado Teacher Encouragement Program Selection Panel
in 1986; and, he received a fellowship, along with 24 other western United
States administrators, from the University of Colorado-Boulder in
organization development. This two-year program provided an opportunity to
extensively study organization development as applicable to education
settings.
