New Zealand Program
Currently there are three general sites in New Zealand where
students are placed. Placement in any of the three areas is ultimately decided by
the Director of the program, William Hall, but student preferences and requests
play a large part in the decision making.
- Site one: Bay of Plenty
The cities of Rotorua, Tauranga and Whakatane create a general triangle of area
where schools are used. This North Island placement extends along the coast and
into the interior of the central part the country. The entire program has
historically utilized this area for over the last ten years. This site continues to be a
very popular site for both students and cooperating schools.
- Site two: Bay of Islands
The site is located in the Far North region
of the North Island. The Bay of Islands is a part of coastal Northland that extends
for approximately 50 miles from Paihia to Whangaroa Harbour. Placements are
generally made in and around Paihia and Kerikeri and to the north.
- Site three: Far South
This site is located in the southern part of
the South Island and includes Invercargill, Winton and Te Anua.
