Sales & Support Services
What is Sales & Support Services?
The Sales and Service division includes the functions of the Computer Store, Assembly, Desktop Support, and Maintenance.
Computer Store
The Computer Store provides consultation services, acquires and sells microcomputer equipment and peripherals, and microcomputer software to all entities of the MSU-Bozeman campus, along with other units of the Montana University System.
Services provided include:
- Microcomputer equipment consultations and sales
- Microcomputer software consultations and sales
Assembly
The assembly room, located in Renne Library room 68A, builds computers according to the customers specifications including custom hardware and software installations.
Desktop Support
Desktop Support, located in Renne Library room 71, responds to Help Desk cases assigned to the Desktop Support group. Desktop Support will troubleshoot problems on-site and over the phone. They can install software products or upgrade existing software.
Desktop Security
Desktop Security, located in Renne Library room 71, manages the LANDesk Mangement Suite of patch management software. You can contact them to do a security analysis on your desktop to determine if your computer is vulnerable to becoming compromised.
Maintenance
The computer maintenance group provides complete communication cable system maintenance for Ethernet, broadband and twisted-pair cables. Maintenance operates a campus-wide computing equipment repair service.
Maintenance Services include:
- Cable plant intallation and maintenance for Ethernet, broadband and twisted pair
- Interfacing and custom cable construction
- Microcomputer, minicomputer and periphial maintenance
- Laser printer maintenance and repair
- Loan and rental equipment
Hours of Operation
The office hours are 8:00am to 5:00pm Monday thru Friday.
