ITC - Communication Wiring
Ever wonder who installs all the wiring for your computers and phones? Well, it is Communication Wiring!
Communication Wiring is a department within the Information
Technology Center that is responsible for the wiring on campus and all the wiring that is done
during major projects (Ex: MSU Bookstore).
All network activations are completed on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday afternoons between 1:00
and 3:00 pm.
Communication Wiring asks that all requests for large projects or remodels be presented to
Cindy Tirrell as soon as you are aware of the project and the timeline. This includes when, for example,
carpet will be laid to when Facilities Services, if involved, will be done painting, etc. Due to many
projects that occur during Spring Break, summer, and other breaks, time is filled fairly quickly.
So, the sooner Communication Wiring becomes aware of your plans, the better. If you are concerned
about deadlines or time on a project, please contact Cindy at
ctirrell@montana.edu
