Telephone Account Codes
The purpose
of an account code is to reallocate long distance billing from one
index number to another.
All telephones are "assigned" to Index numbers for long distance billing
purposes, so that any long distance call made from a specific phone is
automatically charged to the assigned Index #.
There are times when calls need to be "rebilled" to a different Index,
for example, a grant. Rather than
change the billing on the telephone for these calls, use an account code to
"flag" specific calls for rebilling to the grant number.
Account
code detail reports are distributed with the monthly long distance
invoices.
