Moves, Adds, and Changes (MACs) Information
MACs are all completed through a
Telephone & Network
Service Request form, which your department's Telephone Coordinator will be able to complete for you.
This form is NOT to be used for repairs or for billing index changes!
Below are some of the reasons the request form would need to be completed:
- Moving a phone, number, or both
- Moving a data connection
- Installing a new telephone line
- Adding a new data connection
- Adding a CAT 5 Jack
|
- Adding voice mail or a voice menu system
- Changing features on a phone
- Upgrading from one phone to another
- New handset cord (Phone to handset)
|
If you are not sure if your
request needs to be on a form, please contact Silvia Harrington at extension 5050 or by email at
sharrington@montana.edu.
It is suggested that for any general request be submitted 10 days in advance of desired completion
date. If your request is part of a project, needing new wiring, cabling, raceway, or conduit, it is
suggested that your request be submitted at least 20 days in advance, as installation for specific
items may be done by multiple departments.
For any major project, you do need to contact Cindy Tirrell to set up a time she can visit
and make sure the project is possible, check for wiring possibilities, billing, scheduling of the
project. Cindy can be reached at Extension 2882. You can also email her at
ctirrell@montana.edu.
****Please remember, for any major projects, many are scheduled during holiday
breaks, such as Christmas. During these breaks, the time is usually filled 6 months in advance.
So, if you are preparing a project, please make Cindy aware of it as soon as possible!
