Re: Telephone and Network Coordinators Newsletter – March 2004
2500 Changeout
Update
We are currently upgrading
the single line 2500 desk phones to the new digital M2006 telephones, which
provide a message waiting light. We are only changing the telephones that have
voice mail at this time.
We have been extremely busy
with the process, allowing Tuesday and Thursday afternoons to complete this
tedious project. Currently, we have completed the following buildings:
Culbertson Linfield Herrick
Traphagen Cheever Romney
Cobleigh Roberts EPS Fieldhouse
Lewis Howard Haynes
Visual Comm. Bldg. Renne Library
Many of you expressed your
wish not to have your phone replaced. If you have a cordless phone, speaker
phone, a personal phone, or you use your phone line to plug in a modem or fax
line, we would not upgrade your phone. Please let us know if you would not like
your phone to be changed (if you have already, you do not need to do so again).
Please email Chris Bauer at cbauer@montana.edu.
If you have any questions
regarding the changing out process, please contact Chris at Extension 0 or
email her at cbauer@montana.edu.
Directory Updates
This is just another
friendly reminder that we need any changes of personnel in your department.
This includes if you have moved buildings, rooms, or changed phone numbers. These
updates are for the campus directory and the online database.
Please review your
department’s personnel listings online at http://gemini.msu.montana.edu/msuinfo/dplist.html.
Simply print a copy and make the necessary changes. You may fax it to Extension
1955 or mail it to Telephone Services, Renne Library, room
58.
Major Projects
With Spring
beginning (and the weather stays nice), Communications Wiring is in full swing
with the network upgrades to Category 5 wiring for voice and data. Currently,
they are working in Reid Hall.
The Spring and Summer months
are extremely busy for Communications Wiring. If you have any major
renovations, remodels, or any other projects taking place during these times,
and it will involve the Wiring Technicians, please notify Pat Simmons
immediately. You may email her at psimmons@montana.edu
or you may call her at Extension 5460.
If you know of anyone who
would like to be added to the listserv to receive this monthly newsletter,
please email Chris Bauer at cbauer@montana.edu.
Thank you!
