Telephone Directories

In February, ITC-Telephone Services conducted a survey on campus of telephone coordinators, faculty, and staff regarding the delivery of Bozeman area telephone directories on campus. We want to thank all of you who responded and provided input to help us make our final decision.

Our question to the campus was: Of the four Bozeman telephone directories offered (Dex, Yellowstone Country, Big Sky Country, and Yellowbook), which would be the top two directories you would wish to continue receiving.

Because of the increased number of local telephone directories available to us, ITC-Telephone Services found that the time consumed requesting quantities and arranging distributions was getting excessive.  Add to that the increase in trash as each round of directories gets thrown away, and it seemed like we needed a different approach.

The results were based on the majority of responses of each telephone directory. What we found is that the campus wishes to continue receiving the Dex Media telephone directory and the Yellowstone Country (Bobcat on 2006-2007 cover) telephone directory.

For those of you who wish to continue receiving the Big Sky Country or Yellowbook telephone directories, we will provide contact information on the Telephone Services website for both so you can request telephone directories on your own.

Although we have already requested quantities for the Dex Media telephone directory, which is delivered in June, we will be requesting any additional amounts shortly, along with the quantities needed for the Yellowstone Country directory. Please keep in mind; you do not have to receive both if your department wishes to have only one or the other. This decision is up to you and your department faculty and staff.

After the numbers of directories are received for this year’s deliveries, we will then be asking for quantities in January of each year.

If you have any questions regarding the directories, please contact Silvia Harrington at extension 5050 or email her at sharrington@montana.edu.
