My Phone Has No Dial Tone
1. Is Your Phone Plugged In?
Please check to make sure your handset is plugged into the cord and the
cord is plugged into the phone. Then, check to make sure the line cord is plugged into your phone and
into the wall jack.
2. If Your Phone Is Plugged In, Is It Plugged Into The Correct Jack?
In most rooms, the top jack is for voice, or phone. The bottom jack is for data. On some jacks, the voice and
data are side by side. Be sure you are plugged into the correct jack. Also, make sure you are plugged
into the jack you are assigned to - meaning, if you are plugged into a different jack that you haven't
plugged into before, it might not be activated or for a different type of phone that you have.
If you are moving your phone without notifying Telephone Services, the phone might not work at the jack you're trying! You need to have your
Telephone Coordinator complete a Telephone & Network Service
Request Form!
3. Did You Have Your Phone Unplugged Overnight?
If your phone has been unplugged overnight or for at least a 24 hour
period, it will need to be re-enabled. Please contact Telephone Services at Extension 2813 and we can
re-enable your phone for you immediately!
