Paul Lachapelle, Community Development Specialist

Paul is the Montana State University Extension Community Development Specialist. His general responsibilities involve providing research, technical assistance and trainings and workshops on various community development topics to strengthen the social, economic and environmental well-being of communities across the state. Specifically, he works toward providing resources and programs in many areas including community strategic visioning, local governance, leadership development training, community tourism assessment and development, economic and business development, business retention and expansion projects, community profiling, conflict management and resolution, economic impact assessments, planning facilitation, and community surveys.

Molly joined the Local Government Center in spring 2007 as an Administrative Associate. Her duties include managing the day-to-day operations of our office and supervising graduate assistants and work study students. She works with Jane and Edward to coordinate and evaluate training programs and workshops for local government officials. Molly also manages our website and assists with preparing, printing, and distributing Local Government Center and Extension Community Development publications. Steven Swinford, Research Associate

Steve Swinford received a Ph.D. in Sociology from Bowling Green State University where he specialized in Social Psychology and Quantitative Methodology. At Montana State University he teaches courses in Social Psychology, Statistics, and Research Methods. His work with the Local Government Center focuses on survey development and data analysis.

Brianna Cain, Workstudy Student
Brianna joined the center in January 2008 and has been a big help in preparing workshop materials, keeping the office organized, and helping out with "odd jobs" around the center.
