The Montana Association of Counties (MACo) and the Local Government Center have a long-standing working relationship. Working with MACo's Education Committee, the Local Government Center developed a 20-hours per year certification program for County Commissioners. MACo and the Local Government Center also collarborate on research projects, publications, and technical assistance projects.
2007 Elected County Officials Certification
The 2007 Elected County Officials Orientation / Commissioner Certification was held in Helena on December 10-13. This was Phase Two of two phases designed to give professional training and certification for county commissioners. Read more in the Montana Association of Counties January 2008 newsletter.
2006 Elected County Officials Orientation/Commissioner Certification
The 2006 Elected County Officials Orientation/Commissioner Certification Program was held in Helena on December 11-14. Over 50 new and established county commissioners, county attorneys, justices of the peace, clerks and recorders, clerks of district court, treasurers, superintendents of school, coroners, and sheriffs attended. This was Phase One of two phases designed to give professional training and credentials. Phase Two will be held in December 2007.
