Testing Gravity

Gravity affects everything we do on Earth. Any time we drop or throw something and watch it fall to the ground, we see gravity in action. The force of gravity keeps us on the Earth.

Mission:

Learn the effect of gravity on Earth.

Experiment:

Step 1.
Count out 20 glass marbles and place them in the plastic bag.

Step 2.
Count out 20 plastic balls and place them in the same plastic bag.

Step 3.
Place a straw in the corner of the bag and seal the bag up to the straw.

Step 4.
Blow up the bag using the straw.

Step 5.
Remove the straw and quickly seal the bag completely.

Step 6.
Shake the bag to mix the marbles and balls for 10 seconds.

Theorize:

A. What happens to the marbles and the balls?

B. Which are heavier?

C. Does gravity attract heavy and light objects the same?

Shake!
