This collection contains a selection of images taken Elsa Spear Byron during the Crow Fair from 1911 to the 1950s. Called "Baasaxpilue" which means "to make much noise," it is the largest and most spectacular of Indian celebrations in the Northern Plains. A traveling exhibition featuring the collection was produced by the Photo Archive in 1985 entitled "Crow Celebrations." |
