Class L-2 (930-939) 0-6-0 Switcher.Total built 10. Rome Locomotive Works, 1887-1890.

In 1916 NP commissioned an electrician, C.R. Iles, to make a photograph of every class NP engine. His pictures are probably some of the best ever made of locomotives. he had an advantage, of course, in that all the engines were cleaned and then placed just the way he wanted them for photographing. At Duluth he hung large white sheets behind each engine for a clear background. This was unsatisfactory as there was too much preparatory work, so in later pictures he opaqued out the background. Mr. Iles used an 8xlO view camera with glass plate negatives, took time exposures and did all his own processing. The photo shows 936 on spot at Brainerd August 12, 1916.
