Class F-1 (50-81) 2-8-0 Consolidation. Total built 32. Baldwin Locomotive Works, 1888-1891.

Class F-1 was the most famous NP Consolidation and was known over the system as the "Baldwin hog." These rugged engines were used in the mountains and on heavy grades, mostly on the Continental Divide and in the Cascades. Many of them were in continuous use for over 60 years, the last ones in service on logging runs on the Tacoma Division. Photograph was made of NP 60 at Wallace, Idaho about 1902.
