Class Q-1 (2100-2147) 4-6-2 Pacific. Total built 48. Schenectady Works,
American Locomotive Co., 1904-1907.

Mechanical men have said the Q-1 Pacifics were the railway's best built and smoothest engines. The Stephenson valve gear could be set with utmost precision resulting in perfect, sharp exhausts.

Also it has been said there were good engines and bad ones out of an identical group--even hoodoo engines. 2120 was one of the latter, having had a reputation for getting into trouble and being in numerous wrecks.
