NP ordered three Atlantics in 1909. They were speedy and good looking but as one engineer
put it, "They can run like a scared jackrabbit but can't pull a hen off the nest." No more
were ordered.
603, 604 and 605 worked in the Twin City, Duluth and Staples territory and for a time on branches out of Mandan, but never west of Mandan. Here 603 is leaving St. Paul on the Duluth local passenger run in July 1934. |
