Beth Antonopulos will be teaching oboe, English horn, and reed making at Montana State University starting in the fall of 2011. She earned a Doctorate of Musical Arts in oboe performance at the University of Washington, Seattle (2002) where she studied oboe with Rebecca Henderson. Currently, she plays English horn and oboe for the Helena Symphony and will be joining the Bozeman Symphony in the fall. She has performed throughout western Montana as a chamber musician and with the Helena and Missoula Symphonies as well as teaching oboe privately and at the University of Montana. Dr. Antonopulos also holds a Master of Arts degree in music history (2000) from UW. While in Seattle, she was the academic director of the Seattle Conservatory of Music where she taught music history and theory. She also taught oboe and performed throughout the Seattle area. Her Bachelor of Music degree was completed at the University of Montana (1995) where she studied oboe with Roger McDonald and was named Presser Scholar (1994-1995). She is a member of the International Double Reed Society. Prior to reentering the world of music, she earned a BS in Applied Mathematics from the University of Colorado, Boulder (1988) and was a software engineer for NASA. She enjoys hiking, skiing, and traveling with her family.
