Margy Burgess Peterson Memorial Scholarship
NAME OF SCHOLARSHIP: Margy Burgess Peterson Memorial
Scholarship
PURPOSE OF SCHOLARSHIP:
A scholarship fund set up by Major James Peterson in memory of his wife, Margy
Burgess Peterson, who died at age 31 of a brain aneurysm. She worked
as a nurse at Columbus Hospital in Great Falls. The trust is administered
by the MSU-Bozeman Foundation.
NUMBER OF AWARDS: One
VALUE: Varies based on interest accrued
ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA:
- Recipients must be registered in the nursing curriculum.
- Recipients must have a minimum cumulative grade point average of 2.5.
- Recipients must be recommended by the College of Nursing Associate Dean
or Campus Director.
- All things being equal, preference shall be given to individuals who are
not eligible for other forms of financial aid.

ADDITIONAL COMMENTS:
It has been requested by John Burgess, father of Margy Burgess Peterson, that
a thank you letter be sent to him by the recipient of the scholarship. The
Assistant Dean's Office is responsible for processing the Scholarship Authorization
Form. Correspondence to Mr. Burgess should be sent via first class mail. Copies
of all correspondence to the recipient and donor will be kept in Bozeman with
the central scholarship files.
