Anna Pearl Sherrick Scholarship
NAME OF SCHOLARSHIP: Anna Pearl Sherrick Scholarship
PURPOSE OF SCHOLARSHIP:
Anna Pearl Sherrick founded the Montana State University - Bozeman College
of Nursing in 1937 and served as its first director. Through her leadership,
the MSU-Bozeman Nursing Program grew and developed with an emphasis on well
prepared faculty members and innovative delivery of education to meet Montana's
unique needs. It is Dr. Sherrick's dedication and foresight which provided
the foundation for the nationally recognized programs of excellence at the
MSU-Bozeman College of Nursing today. In 1989, Dr. Sherrick published a book
entitled "Worldwide Events Influencing Nursing in Montana."
Dr. Sherrick generously donated these books and the proceeds of their sale
to the College, and a scholarship has been established in her name.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA:
- Has been a participant in MSNA/MNA (not necessarily as a member or officer).
- Has a cumulative GPA of at least 2.50.
- Has completed at least one semester in the nursing curriculum.
- Has submitted a paragraph of interest addressing the following:
Professional goals
Why MSU-Bozeman was selected for study
Financial need (will be used as a tie breaker, all other criteria being equal)
APPROXIMATE NOMINATION DEADLINE: Mid-December
SELECTED BY: College of Nursing Scholarship Committee
ADDITIONAL COMMENTS:
The procedure for scholarship selection is as follows:
1) Student will apply to local campus scholarship/award committee or campus
director.
2) Each local campus will determine a campus nominee and forward their nominee
to the Scholarship Committee.
