In 2012, Montana State University adopted a new strategic plan, with one of the three main goals emphasizing Engagement. In early 2013, the Office of Activities and Engagement developed Faculty Administration and Staff Teamwork for service, or FAST. FAST is the fulfillment our University’s assertion that the sharing of intellectual and human assets has a powerful impact on both the Campus Community and the Bozeman and surrounding communities, and is simply the right thing to do.
Join our FAST Service Program! Once per month, Faculty, Administration, and Staff from across the campus join forces to engage in service projects and make a difference in our community. With only one commitment per month, this is a great way to fit service into your busy schedule! Our goal is to report 100 hours of volunteerism by Faculty, Administration, and Staff by April 15, 2013.
Upcoming FAST Opportunities:
April FAST opportunity:
Each month, the Office of Activities and Engagement provides a volunteer opportunity as part of the Faculty, Administration, and Staff Teamwork for Service, or FAST Program. On April 12-13, we are excited to partner with the 38th Annual MSU American Indian Council Pow-wow.
FAST invites the campus community to come together and engage in supporting this dynamic event. The MSU American Indian Council Pow-wow is the largest in Montana, open to the public, and free for everyone - this is a family-friendly event!
Hosting the largest Pow-wow in Montana provides many different volunteer opportunities. There is a need for 200 volunteers to donate at least four hours of their time to help with concessions, security, and frybread preparation*.
Volunteer for a shift on April 12 or 13. Bring your family and friends, meet new people, learn more about American Indian culture and tradition, and support and celebrate MSU’s diverse community of students.
To volunteer, please sign up by CLICKING HERE.
Please sign up for a shift no later than 5:00 pm on Friday, April 5
*Frybread preparation requires volunteers to attend a Food Safety Class: https://tofu.msu.montana.edu/ufs/training/student
