Welcome to the Department of Residence Life, where living and learning come together to provide
students with a "home-like" environment as they navigate their academic career. On-going social
activities and educational programming opportunities assist students as they make the transition
to college life. Professional Resident Directors, Hall Front Desk Program Assistants, Resident
Advisors, and a Central Administration Staff work to ensure students are provided with everything
from basic amenities to networking opportunities with a diverse group of individuals. Staff
members are selected on the basis of character, role modeling, and leadership ability.
Academic Theme Floors provide students with similar interests the opportunity to live together
on the same floor and receive career planning and academic assistance. Beyond Academic Theme
Floors, other special living options exist for students interested in outdoor pursuits, community
involvement, health and wellness, and more!
Students have the opportunity to eat with friends in three different dining facilities across
campus. Miller, Harrison, and Hannon Dining Halls are locally owned and operated, guaranteeing a
wide variety of meal choices and excellent customer service. The North and South Hedge Hog Convenience
Stores are a wonderful on-the-go and late night option for students. We are proud of the quality of
food and atmosphere provided by the MSU Food Service.
