Summer Housing

Summer Session 2008 finds the MSU campus in full bloom and very active. Centennial Mall, which runs through the center of campus, is an inviting place to meet a friend, read a book, eat your lunch, or simply enjoy the surroundings.

Residence Halls

North Hedges Suite #2 and Roskie Hall are the residence halls available for on-campus student housing during Summer Session 2008. The North Hedges Suites provide apartment-style living with many of the modern advantages of home and are available to returning residence hall students who meet eligibility requirements. The two, three and four person suites have private bedrooms and are furnished with single beds. There are also single, shared bath suites available, where two single rooms are joined by a bathroom. Each suite is furnished with cable television hookup, a bathroom, and a study nook.
Roskie's unique design helps build an upbeat, active community. Roskie rooms will be offered as single occupancy rooms furnished with two extra long twin beds (extra bed may be removed upon request) a mattress pad, pillow, closet, phone (local phone service), cable television, trash can, desk, and chair. Residents of Roskie also have access to laundry facilities located on every floor and kitchen, game pod and big screen TV located on the main floor. In both buildings, internet connections are available through ResNet, which provides the fastest residential internet access in the state.

MSU provides linens which consist of mattress pads, pillows and sheets. Residents will be assigned rooms on a first-come, first-serve basis by Residence Life staff. All suites and buildings are non-smoking. Benefits of living on-campus include convenience, increased privacy, Cat Card security/building access, kitchen facilities, atriums, computer lab access and accessible parking. Laundry facilities are available and Cat Card operated.

Applications and Contracts for Summer Housing will be available beginning they will be available online or can be mailed to you by contacting the Residence Life Office at 406-994-2661.

Once we receive your completed application and contract we will assign you a room. Room charges are due within the first four days of you check-in and separate from your registration fees. Summer Session housing will be available starting on Sunday, May 18, at 9:00 a.m.

The Residence Life/University Food Services Office in the Hedges Complex is open from 8AM to 5PM, Monday through Friday and can be reached by calling (406) 994-2661. The office will be closed on weekends and for all state and federal holidays.

Meal Plans

The Miller Dining Hall is available to Summer Session students. Meal plans are optional and can be purchased at the Residence Life Cahier's Office in increments of 25, 50, or 75 meals. Meals are available Monday through Friday during the Summer Session with extended service on weekends, depending on conference activity.

Room Charges

Residence hall rates are based on six- and twelve-week sessions. However, if you are here for a shorter or longer session, rates will be prorated accordingly.

**Those students who have Residence Hall contracts for Spring 2008 and the 2008-2009 academic year are eligible for summer housing as non-students for $1156.00 for the entire summer (may be paid in 4 installments of $289.00).

*Charges include a $10 non-refundable social fee and ResNet fee.

Summer Session Housing Credit Requirements

Students must be enrolled as a student of the University and must take no fewer than 3 credits (or receive express approval from the RLUFS Office if taking fewer credits) to live in the residence hall. This excludes 12 month residents, who do not have to take classes to reside in the residence halls.
