BOZEMAN -- The Tri-State Cow-Calf Management School will be held Feb. 19-20 at Logging Camp Ranch in Amidon, N.D.

The two-day event features a series of intensive workshops with Montana State University, North Dakota State University, and South Dakota State University Extension Service specialists.

"This program is designed for cow-calf producers," says Rick Funston, a beef cattle Extension specialist stationed at the Ft. Keogh Livestock and Range Research Center in Miles City. "It should provide producers with a sound basis for making beef cattle production and marketing decisions."

Topics that will be covered include range management, cattle nutrition, reproduction, genetics, health and marketing. Producers should bring a pocket calculator, pencils or pens and may find it useful to have feed test reports, pasture maps, and any other information useful in ration balancing or pasture planning.

The program costs $75. Pre-registration is required. Rooms are available at the ranch for $25 plus tax, though people attending are free to arrange other accommodations. For more information, call (701) 231-7660.
