Friends of the Library benefit dinner set Oct. 11

Paul Schullery, Yellowstone National Park historian and director emeritus of the American Museum of Fly Fishing will be the keynote speaker at the eighth annual Friends of the MSU Library friend-raiser dinner and auction to be held Thursday, Oct. 11 at Montana State Universitys Student Union Building ballrooms.
The event begins at 6 p.m. with a social hour and silent auction. Dinner begins at 7 p.m. and at 8 p.m. Schullery will speak on "The Hero with a Thousand Vices: A River Runs Through It as Folklore and History."
Auction items include original artworks by Louis Archambault, Ned Mueller, Lori Brigham, Jim Dolan, John Montagne and Debbie Moeller, among others.
In addition, winners will be selected for a trip for two to the Library of Congress in Washington D.C, courtesy of a donation of airline tickets by the Travel Station. Two-hundred tickets will be sold for the drawing. Tickets are available by contacting the MSU Library at (406) 994-3119.
All net proceeds from the event will go toward furnishings for the current MSU Renne Library renovation.
