Todd, Thomas win top MSU Alumni Award

10/04/2001 BOZEMAN -- Bozeman -- Milo Todd of Bozeman and Marillyn (Pearson) Thomas of Great Falls will receive one of the top awards given by the Montana State University Alumni Association at ceremonies on campus to be held during the university's annual homecoming celebration, Oct. 11-13.

Todd, a longtime farmer and dairyman in the Gallatin Valley, and Thomas, a community leader, will receive the Alumni Achievement Award. Both are graduates of MSU.

Todd has been generous with his time and talents since his graduation from Montana State College in 1954 with a degree in agriculture. He works the same land as did his father and grandfather. He served on the Darigold board as well as the Farm Credit services board for more than 18 years. He has also been a director of the HiLine Ditch Company, Salvation Army Board and a deacon at the Four Corner's Baptist Church.

Thomas graduated from Montana State College with a degree in home economics in 1953. She worked in radio and television in Great Falls hosting her own television show, "Open House," and she created two children's television shows. She has given thousands of hours through volunteer work, serving on the board of directors for many organizations in Great Falls including, Family Services Agency, Great Falls Children's Receiving Home, Junior League, and the Great Falls Symphony Association. She is also very active in Our Savior's Lutheran Church as well as the family business, Thomas, Dean & Hoskins consulting engineers, serving as general contractor for a condominium project.

An awards ceremony and reception for both winners is planned for 3:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 12 in the Foundation/Alumni Center Great Room. For more information, contact the MSU Alumni Association office, (406) 994-2401.
