04/18/00 BOZEMAN - -Eight faculty members at Montana State University-Bozeman have been awarded sabbatical leave during the 2000-01 academic year, announced MSU Provost David Dooley recently. The eight faculty members were selected from 23 proposals submitted for review.
The following faculty member, with her title and department, will take sabbatical leave during the 2000 fall semester: Victoria ODonnell, director of University Honors Program.
The following faculty members, with their titles and departments, will take sabbatical leave during the 2000-01 academic year: Harvey Hamburgh, associate professor of art, William Inskeep, professor of land resources and environmental sciences, Steven Perkins, associate professor of civil engineering, Jay Schmidt, professor of art, Billy Smith, professor of history, Sachiko Tsuruta, professor of physics, and David Ward, professor of land resources and environmental sciences.
Sabbatical leave is available to MSU faculty and administrate and professional staff with seven or more years of service in the state. Sabbatical leaves -- used for research, travel and related work that aids professional development or benefits the university -- are awarded by the Provost and Vice President of Academic Affairs. Selections are based on service, academic rank, length of service, and type and quality of proposed sabbatical programs.
