GREAT FALLS--Over 400
Four-H leaders and Extension staff from around the West will gather in Great Falls Feb. 6-10 for the Western Leaders
Regional Forum, an opportunity to hone their leadership skills and learn new strategies
for working with youth.
The event rotates from state-to-state and is held in Montana only once every 13 years. Participants from California, Oregon, Washington, Idaho, Colorado, New Mexico, Arizona, Hawaii, Alaska, Nevada, Wyoming, Utah, Montana and Alberta, Canada, will be in attendance.
The theme for the event is "Forum of Discovery," modeled on Lewis & Clark's Corp of Discovery. The Forum offers workshops, motivational presentations, demonstrations, entertainment, and discussion time.
Featured speakers include Earl Old Person, chief of the Blackfeet Nation and chairman of the Blackfeet Tribal Business Council; motivational speakers Audrey Nelson and Tamara Hall; and the "Slob" Sisters, comediennes and professional organizers. Gov. Judy Martz will address the group at the Thursday luncheon. In addition to leadership workshops, participants will tour the Lewis & Clark Interpretive Center and the C.M. Russell Museum.
